Letter from the Library

Hello friends! We are so excited to be stepping into the holiday season and launching our newsletter to keep you informed about everything happening here at the library. The library recently attended Comanche's Trunk or Treat event at the City Park, and we enjoyed giving treats to our local families! Our library staff has enjoyed the fall season so far, including by making several Thanksgiving themed endcaps for our bookcases. We're hard at work transitioning to Thanksgiving and preparing for our Turkey Tuesday event.

Our Turkey Tuesday event will be on November 25 from 5-7pm at our temporary location (508 E. Central). We are looking forward to a great turn out and welcome you and your family to attend. The evening will include edible crafts, goodie bags, and plenty of photo opportunities and laughs. We are also looking for volunteers who would be willing to help us with this event, so please come by the library or fill out our volunteer form below if you'd be interested in volunteering with us! Our Turkey Tuesday event has been a big success in recent years and we are anticipating a great evening to kick off the holidays.

We will be in full Christmas mode after November 25. The library will be open until noon on November 26, so please come join us as we transform the library from a Thanksgiving Feast to a Winter Wonderland. The library will be closed on November 26 and 27 for Thanksgiving. Swing by the library during the first week of December to take a peek at our creations and season-long photo backdrops that will be available for family photos throughout December. We will be hosting our annual Saturday with Santa event on December 6, which will include a virtual visit from children's author Alda Dobbs. Mrs. Dobbs wrote "The Giving Flower: The Story of the Poinsettia" and will do a short presentation and Q&A that you won't want to miss. Mark your calendars and join us for our holiday festivities!

Please be sure to subscribe to our Facebook and Instagram pages and check out our column in the Comanche Chief for more information and reminders about upcoming events. Be on the lookout for updates to our website and future newsletters as we begin planning for 2026. Speaking of 2026, please fill out our new Fall 2025 Patron Survey and share what kind of programming you would like to see the library providing!

Thank you and see you at the library soon!

Please take two minutes to fill out our Fall 2025 survey!

The library is preparing to expand our program offerings and we want to know what you're interested in. Our form will be live through the holiday season and we will be using the results of the poll to plan our 2026 programs, especially as we look forward to returning to our home building!

Thank you again for your interest in the Comanche Public Library.

Feel free to reach out to Deborah at comanchepl@verizon.net or Angie at CPLsocial@comanchepubliclibrary.onmicrosoft.com with any questions about upcoming events.

We would love to see you at our temporary location 508 E. Central (across from the "new” Allsup's). Our temporary building is small, but so are some of the life's best gifts. Join us and share the gift of reading today.

See you at the library soon!
